LOL!
He then proceeded to get river trip 6's, and do all sorts of rivering. What the hell do I have to do to win. I admit I lost my cool and told him "I was going to hunt him down and kill him". Is that too harsh?

Wow! I can see the BB staying around, sorta.. what was unsane99 thinking?
This example you so humbly shared, is why I dislike limit holdem... I'm guessing you would have been able to take the pot, albiet smaller most likely, on the flop had you been able to bet more...
Don't quit tho... :)

Looks like you almost got the hammer dropped on you.
I say be glad someone with 4's won the whole thing.

Runner-runner Hammer and a boat vs. your flopped top two. I've had those weeks too man. Keep your chin up and duck the hammer next time :P

This has been my life for the last two weeks! Arg! Frustrating. I put that 777 guy on my buddy list. I am going to bump into him again.
I have a bad problem with NL. I always get to a point where I lose my mind and call an all in with nothing good. See next posting for an example. I think if I played NL alot I would lose quicker.

Hecticdude didn't play this hand that badly.
Preflop: $3 to call with 44, $25 in pot. Easy call.
Flop: $3 to call with an underpair, $40 in pot. Assuming a set would be good, and assuming his opponents who already called the flop do not hold any 4s, he has 2 outs/41 remaining cards or about 20:1 on the turn. Factor in his remaining $18 in chips, which he can surely expect to get all in against at least one opponent if he makes a set, and he is getting very close to the right price here.
Turn: $6 to call with an underpair, $58 in pot. OK, this is a pretty bad call. He stands to win about $80 on a $6 call with 20:1 odds. Even the size of the final pot ($97) did not justify this call. But I might do the same thing if I were down to the felt.
River: this check raise was brilliant. He has to put you on AK or AJ, and the offsuit 4 isn't exactly a scare card. The guy who called the turn will probably call the river and maybe even overcall his check raise (which he did). A lot of people would have led out betting right here and lost 2 big bets.
Moral of the story? Hecticdude didn't make any big mistakes. In fact, at limit play it's pretty hard to make REALLY big mistakes. If you want to see people play bad and get punished for it, play low stakes NLHE. Last night I had AJ, flopped J-high rainbow, and had a guy call my $45 all-in bet on a $30 pot with J9o. Now THAT's a bad call.

No way he played this well from the flop on. I will agree he might have played this badly because he was down to the felt and said "What the fuck". When you have 4th pair and an Ace on the board and are drawing to a 2-Outer that is just bad play. Sorry. No way you can justify that. Oh wait, he won, that makes it all right. I suppose he played his 7-9o right too when he got his second seven on the river to win. He was just a FISH getting LUCKY as a mofo! I doubt he even knows what a Pot Odd is. Probably thinks it is how likely he is to score some pot when he goes driving around tonight.

I feel your pain dude. The good news is that I've had back to back $100+ days since my big downswing. I think the games are juicier than ever these days on Party. Stick with it. These chumps will be broke soon and hopefully some of their money will end up in our pocket before they get that way.
Also, what time/where are you all playing the NL games. I'd like to join in on the fun.

Usually it is very impromptu. I do a search for people I know, and if they are on a 25/NL table it probably means some other Bloggers are too. I usually check around 10-11 if I am doing well at 3/6. Then I will fold my 3/6 game so I can concentrate on the NL game. Look me up around then and if I am playing 25/NL, you can bet it is with other Bloggers.

I have no doubt that hecticdude is a terrible player, but this wasn't a terrible play. Yes, he should have laid it down on the turn, but him taking a 15:1 price on 20:1 odds doesn't justify the nuclear meltdown you seem to have had over this hand. No offense meant, but if you think this is a really bad beat and it sets you off emotionally, you should probably not play poker for very much money.
