Down and Finally Out

Ahh well. No Money. I guess I should be happy. At least my life has balance now. It all sucks. I have no idea when I forgot how to play cards. Somewhere along the line I turned off the path or something. I wish I could remember what I did originally to win. I sure as hell am not doing it now. Not sure where I am going from here. I have a tourney on Stars at the end of the month that I want to do. So I will buy into that and see what happens. Not sure how much Blogging I can do without a bankroll. We will see. If you want to donate to Fund-A-Looser to ensure that your work productivity stays low I will give you my Empire and/or Party account names. I guarantee 0% return on your investment, but at least you can get a chuckle at the new ways I figure out how to lose.

Last night was a comedy of errors. Twice I hit the flush only to be beaten by a boat. Guess it happens. A lot. Once I get called all in when I have TPTK and the other guy has a pair of two’s. Guess what the turn is? Of course it is a two. Your talking about me! Some days it seems like nothing goes right. Oh well.

If I do decide to make a comeback I am going to wait a month or so and buyin at $600. I want to be fully funded for my return. I will play a mix of 10/1 SNGs, ½ Limit, and 25/NL with this money. If I am able to wipe this out then I think I will absolutely quit for good. I probably should anyways because I am really not having much fun. Maybe I can figure out what I broke in my game, besides my bankroll. Oh well. It just goes to show you all it takes is one night of lack of discipline to lose it all.

Best way to build a bankroll is to win a "live" tournament. I now have a pretty healthy offline bankroll from placing in various tournaments and doing well in live games.

I agree with Sean - take a break, get back in touch with the basics by doing some reading and then, when you come back, pick one level/game and stick with it to build your bankroll - and your discipline - back up. You do know how to play this game !!

Give up the game for good? Hahaha, you are funny Sir. Everyone who reads your blog knows you are capable of being a winning player. I know I can be one as well, but discipline is an ugly bitch sometimes. Variance is even uglier. Especially when the game seems less fun as before. Take a break, keep playing, keep blogging, and keep keepin it real Gman. Heh.

During the times that I'm particularly pissed at the poker gods for downswings, I'll just play at the blogger tables for awhile. Nothing can make the game fun again for me as quick as playing with the gang. A couple nights a week for $25 a pop is a nice way to remind yourself how to have fun with it again!

Good Luck, keep your head up and things will turn towards the positive soon!

You should definitely take a break, as others have suggested.

But before you go, how about telling us what SirFWALGMan means?

As I told you before, MultiPoker (another Party skin) has several daily freeroll tourneys. Give 'em a shot.

Hey man, sorry to hear about the continued slide down to the felt. As others have said, you CAN be a winning player, but the situation has to be right. And one thing is clear -- the situation is NOT right at this particular moment.

Take a few weeks off. Read a little, and then come back rested and ready to go. Who knows, you may re-acquire some of the love of the game that you've clearly temporarily lost for the time being. And be smart when you do return, don't mix NL and limit play until your bankroll is rock solid. Frankly, you'll need a lot more than $600 to really play NL$25 as it should be played.

Good luck, and I look forward to your triumphant return!
