C25K - Week 3
Did my week three workout. Surprisingly the running did not kill my lungs like I expected. I had a good solid pace. Each 3 minute run was exactly 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Breathing was a little hard but not as horribly bad as I thought it might be. What really got me tonight was my hammies and maybe calves. OMG they were SO sore. Probably because I did my jog after baseball. I have to stand for 2 hours for baseball and hit a bunch of balls for like 1/2hr. So sick amounts of exercise.
I felt it was important to do the run tonight since I missed Tuesday. I could have kicked it back to Thursday and only done two nights this week but I want to try and keep a schedule with 1-2 days off inbetween. Hopefully I will not get charlie horses tonight. ug.
After my run I took a quick shower and put in a few more SNGs. Here is my record through six games of 5.50 level:
1st - 2x +44$
2nd - 1x +13$
3rd - 0x
4th - 2x -10$
9th - 1x -5$
=============
Roughly +42$.
So a winning record for sure. Focus is the key for me. Boredom is the enemy. SO I will reassess after ten.

GOGOGOGOGO! Kinda makes up for first out in the Mookie last night ;-)

Mookie was just not to be. Ended up down 3 bucks on the night. So not a disaster. I have really never had a game where every hand I am in my opponent flops a set or rivers a set. Every. Fricken. Hand. Last night. Ug.

Totally can relate. My night consisted of blowing through a buy in and a half at 100nl while completely card dead. Every time I'd raise PF, I'd miss my hand, take a stab on the turn and get blown off the hand by a raise. How many times can AQ, AK miss? And how many times can pocket pairs have overcards on the board? Out of the 500 hands I played, probably all of them were like that.

Oh and on your comment about why I am not playing cash...
I have never been a very good NLHE cash guy. I just can not handle the swings in a rational way. I was a HUGE LHE guy back in the day. I might try more NLHE later when my roll is huge and I can play larger stakes and it becomes more interesting but for now SNGs are probably the best thing. Throw in some MTTs with the profits from those to try and score something big.

Keep up the good work. YOur body is adjusting to suddenly being active after years and years and years and years and years of inactivity. It's not an easy adjustment to make, so continue to expect soreness and just hang in there.

"Each 3 minute run was exactly 2 minutes and 45 seconds." Apparently I was still sleepy. I meant to say each 1/4 mile was exactly 2 minutes 45 seconds.
