Fucking MTTs

I went pretty deep in the 10$ KO. Finished up 18th. I think I fucked up HUGE though. I am not sure where I could play this better except losing only half my stack or folding pre-flop which I do a lot.

So anyways the CO raised my blind for the millionth time. I look down and see KQ s00ted so being a donkey I call his 6K raise. The blinds are at 2k and we both have 30k stacks which put us both in the 8-10 slot with 18 people left.

So the flop comes K52 and the original raiser leads out for a c-bet sized bet. I call. The turn is a ten. I now have around 10k in the pot and bet out 10k more when he checks. So if I fold here I have maybe like 12-16k left. Anyway he jams all in and I end up calling and getting stacked by a set. Bad call I guess. Anyone play this hand differently before the all in call? I know I could fold pre-flop to the CO raise but is that too pussy? I know I could also fold to the turn jam and save half my stack. Was leading out with a bet on the turn a bad play? Is it a cooler? I am really interested in this hand because it made the difference between a sucky 18th place finish and possibly a much better one. Who knows for sure. I am really interested in the good MTT players opinions like Chad and Hoyazo. All others are of course welcome to comment.

If I hadn't already reraised pre-flop, I would have definitely reraised the flop.

By just calling, you give the other guy the opportunity to pick his price to see cards.

He needs to fear you pushing your chips in and making a gutsy call.

ditto what ohcaptain said. i would have 3 bet him -- of course then you are going to the felt w/ KQ, and you have to be ok w/ that. if you are not ok with that, then fold, and wait for a better spot. i think calling is worst thing you can do.

I watched you play the tourney, and I just wanted to say it's the best I have seen you play since I've been watching you. Riggs told me awhile ago to keep the pressure on, make them have to make the decision, there is a huge difference between calling with KQ and raising with KQ

You suck more than a dyson. You should give up poker and do something else less harmful with your time like jerking off.

I really cannot understand why you continue to bang your head against the wall like it is not there.

The only reason you should still be playing poker is so that we all can feel better about our skills.

Corky called and he wants his brains back oba la di oba la da LIFE GOES ON!!!

If i had a dog as stupid as you i would hit it with my own car.

i think you should play more go fish... you have better drawing odds than most of your poker hands.

Marshall Howland: i suck

williamscott mcmillan: duh. everyone kows that and everyone tells you that but you never listen

Marshall Howland: haha i always listen

Marshall Howland: i just never get better

Marshall Howland: lol

Marshall Howland: out 18th was painfull

Marshall Howland: i think when i commit chips i am lothe to fold

Marshall Howland: lol

williamscott mcmillan: i think you should play more go fish... you have better drawing odds than most of your poker hands.

Marshall Howland: lol

Marshall Howland: you should comment when you get a moment

raise or fold.
raise or fold.
raise or fold.

if you want to improve the calling leak, take a $10 sng or a mook, and toss out the call button.

I have no idea why you are slow playing a king with a moderate kicker.

I"m way late, but re-raise there pre-flop, and if he jams, fold and kick his ass when you have a hand.

I'm confused. Which set did he hit? Did he hit the set on the turn?

Whatever the case, I don't mind the call preflop. Why re-raise and put yourself in a tough spot preflop with cards dominated by any Ace.

Once you see the flop though, I don't mind the check (you were in the blinds, right?), but it has to be followed by a check-raise all-in. You have top pair, second kicker, and you should only be fearing AA or AK or perhaps 55 or 22, but those two are not as likely. I say, push re-raise all-in on the flop.

KQ is an easily dominated hand.
QT is an easily dominated hand.

Stop playing crappy hands that are 20s at Blackjack.

You make the big money at blackjack with hands like 54 where you get to double down when opponent is weak

I like the raise on the flop as well man. If you're going to allow yourself to get stacked with TPQK on that flop, then raise it up. Your call on the flop is poooosssy and is not part of a well-planned out strategy for winning this hand or getting out with a minimal loss.

In this hand you're going to lose some chips though, unless you're a real man and fold the KQ before the flop.

The 12-15BB range preflop is the perfect stack size for the resteal. He raises 3x and you come over the top for everything. He's got to have a good hand here.

Even with KQ there are a lot of pocket pairs that you are only a slight dog to.

If he's been raising your blind a lot as you claim, then you know the chances of him having AA, KK, or QQ are pretty small.
