Best Buy

I was reading this today. Best Buy went from hundreds of millions in profits to millions in losses. It is totally possible this is just because of online competition... however I think it also might be because they are total assholes. I have had many bad experiences in the store and am personally glad they are losing money. Perhaps if they worked on better customer service instead of up-selling and pushing warranties they might actually find a customer base.

Great place to check out an item you are interested in and buy it elsewhere.

The electronics market has matured and the next model is often a rehash. So the thrill of old seems missing.

Pressure selling has replaced the fun of shopping for goodies. That won't likely return. Help drives more from the store than it sells.

I hate best buy! And I'll tell you why. (thank you for asking) When I bought a laptop....a couple of laptops ago, they had this deal where you could pay monthly and if you paid it off within a certain time you didn't have to pay any interest. Free money? Sign me up! So I did it...a couple of days before the magic date I went into the store to make my final payment and.....

"We can't accept payments in the store".

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Then why do they have fucking cash registers? I had to mail my payment. It was late. And I had to pay the interest, which pisses me off so much. Grrr I'm angry again. Fuck Best Buy.

I've been unhappy with Best Buy, but mostly just because their employees for the most part don't know much about what they're selling. They do know that they get a bonus if they sell enough replacement plans though. Here is a link to an interesting article by Forbes magazine about how they are slowly going under.

Best Buy sucks. You are 100% right, Woffles. They have no clue about customer service and their prices aren't even good compared to other big box stores and the Internets.

Hell, they pissed me off so bad that 8years ago I cut up my Best Buy credit card right at their customer service desk (I was good for about 2-3k a year in purchases). Haven't been back since

impressive how so many B+M goliaths have just completely failed to maintain their market share as sales have moved online.
