Frustrating Brogger Night

Just got to get it out of my system. Lost on the final table of the HORSE tourney when STB took his KK45 s00ted up against my AA37 s00ted. I think we 3-bet pre-flop and all the money basically was in on the pre-flop/flop. He flopped a flush draw but the blinds were so high then I was in until the end. I also had the best hand at the time with a redraw to the low.

He turned a 2-outer set of kings and I did not improve for the split. Ug. Oh well. I played my best. His hand was not terrible.. and when the flop hit it improved alot. O8 is silly that way. No hand is a HUGE favorite pre-flop. Not even one with nut HI/LO written all over it. I guess I am most frustrated at doing so well and spending hours in this thing for nothing. It was nice to do well against some really good players however meh.

The last few weeks have been a little frustrating. I know something good is coming but all my buddies like Hoy, Kat, Veneno, etc, etc.. keep making nice scores and I am kinda hanging out. The cash games have been fun though. I really feel as if I am learning some things.. it is VERY hard to relay those things in the hands I post, some of which could be considered mistakes. I know for sure that I am growing in alot of ways as a player in ring games and I will continue to experiment and grow in new ways.

Explain again how he has a flush draw that's only a two outer?

Obviously he meant the two outer to the trips that Waffles couldn't see. Had the diamond come, Waffles likely would have been able to guess he was beat.

You played well, Waffles. These limit events can really be jarring to us mostly no-limit players. Sounds like you fell victim to the cards, which is just par for the course on pokerstars.

About your recent performances, I think it is high time you started playing some of these low or medium buyin large MTTs. I'm not talking about 180 sngs and 90 sngs on stars. I'm talking the 40k, the 17k, things like that. I see you saying again and again that deep down you want to make a big score like those events can provide you, and you're not going to do that without logging lots of tournaments as practice. Strategy is similar to a blogger event, but more long-term focused as you can imagine.

Come play my online homegame tonight on Pokerstars if you're around (of course you will be!). Details on my blog.

I went through something similiar last year. I was watching bloggers like CJ hitting nice scores and felt a bit frustrated because I was getting close but not winning any great amount. Then I got hot one weekend, won $800 for a third place finish and then took second for $2000.

Keep your game up and you will find yourself smiling at the screen when you see your name on top and a big cash amount that is your bankroll. It will hit when you least expect it.

You will definitely nail a big tourney (95% sure it will be NLHE however :P ).

Just continue to be randomly consistant (does make sense?) as you have been and I'm sure a well-deserved brag post will be coming.
