Back to the past..

It is really funny. I like reading my old posts. I still suffer from some of the same weaknesses. However I can see places where I have improved vastly as a player.

I was talking to Iggy last night (yeah, I am big and important and Iggy like me.. Nah Nah!), about the merits of playing 10-sided vs 6-Max. I would be interested in other people's comments on the games. As I stated the last time I thought about switching fromm 6-Max to 10-sided, there is just more damn money in them hills!

Every hand is a potential monster at the ten game. The raising flush draws, and pushing your good draws really works at these games because so many people will call you to the river with as bad of a hand as an Ace-nothing draw. Of course your weaker hands are going to get sucked out on more often. So what? You want chasers and posers and as long as you can FOLD to the right people.

SO again I ponder, do I want to stay in the action oriented, junky, crack land of 6-Max, or switch it up and give 10-sided some loving? We shall see.

I much prefer the "more calm" 10 sided games. Those 6Max games can get way out of hand and more or less make my head spin...

Oddly, Sir, the 6 Max experience gives me more confidence in my reads in the 10 sided. A mix of the two works best for me.

BTW your blog roll, Poker and Other Things is no longer. Thanks sfor keeping it up there for so long.

You can barely handle the lower limits..so can you really handle 10 handed?..lol

Good luck with your choice...

I used to hate 6max and swore I'd never play it. I changed my mind two months ago and gave it a try. I rarely play a full table anymore. I like the fact you can play more hands position wise and it's fast paced. You can get a read on the table faster as well. As far as which is more profitable, I don't think one is more profitable than the other. It's a matter of do you feel like folding more often to make a profit or do you want to play more hands? I want to play more hands.
