WWDN:Not - Check

I finally won one of these. I almost did not play. It was already started when I noticed it and the "Late Reg" sign was on, so I was like what the hell. It was a great battle though. I give a lot of props to R-Gee and Robin. R-Gee should have his post about how wonderful and much better then him I am pretty soon. I actually had a HUGE chip advantage going in against him because I was getting very lucky all night so even though I AM better than he is he really had a slim chance. I will say he played excellent poker and made it very hard for me to knock him out quickly. Aggressive. Tough. Smart. Good Job Sir.

I read some good stuff from a 2+2 poster today. Who knew? I thought they all talked about how good they were and how they should push all in with weak ass hands so they could be cracked. However this hit me as particularly true:

Everybody will eventually run worse than they thought was possible.
The difference between a winner and a loser is that the latter thinks
they do not deserve it.

- Red Square Poker

I think one of the things that has changed the most for me this year is that feeling of entitlement. If I get my aces cracked by ducks, I will admit, sometimes it hurts.. more often than not nowadays though I just shrug it off as another hand of poker. I am not exactly sure why my attitude changed. I think maybe I finally gave up the notion that if you play right your win. It is not true. If you play right you have a good chance of winning over time. There is a big difference. I still have not really made any money playing this game. To me a few thousand is not much. I think I am getting better at the intangibles and I hope to see something come of it this year. If not, well, I enjoy the game for what it is. A challenging intellectual battle between opponents.

Shame I wasn't able to make it last night to defend my win the prior week!

Congrats on the victory ... it is starting to get tough for anyone other than you and hoyazo to win a tournament.

On the topic of taking the beats I think it is a maturity thing. Hellmuth aside of course, but you really see how often you have busted other people with junk that you come to expect it. We have all seen some really bad runner runner suckouts which make cracked AA vs. 22 all in preflop look normal.

See you at the tables soon.

There it is, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I could not of articulated it better.

Congrats, on another win, man, you have really raised your game. You are to be feared, so much so, that I rarely play in tourniments that you play in anymore out of fear...actually, I've just been sleeping more.
