Bad Night Good Results

I feel as if my game was off tonight. I was pushing edges too much and willing to call off too much with TPTK or overpairs. Here are some hands for example. Let me know what you think. Even though I won some of these hands I think especially hand B was terrible. If I am making good decisions and losing ok. If I am making horrible ones and winning that sucks.

Hand A:
Did I overcommit with TPSK and a flush draw? I know I got lucky. I know this guy is a maniac too. I honestly thought there was a huge chance I was beat. Do you fold this to the flop bet? Turn? River? Do you raise? Are you ok with the river call? I think by the river I had gotten myself neck deep in shit and had to call.

Hand B:
This is one of my biggest weaknesses in NLHE. I am willing to stack off (sometimes) if the hand that beats me is not obvious. I thought I might be beat on the turn. However I invested alot in this hand and I had more outs by the turn. I badly play overpairs where TPTK I seem to play better for the most part. Any comments?

Hand C:
I played this hand all kinds of bad. Again I think I had a bad night. Making calls and bad plays like this a lot. I thought that Neo played it poorly at first but it was pretty cheap for him to see the turn card. After that he had alot of odds to suckout on me. A couple less hands like this tonight and I have a mega night instead of a mediocre one.

On the good side I am playing solid poker for the most part and I won around sixty today despite some bad play. I am pretty happy with how things are going. Now if Riverstars would finish giving me my money I would be really happy. Anyone know of any Full Tilt deposit bonus's going on?

Hand #1: RAISE THE FLOP!!!!!!! You have a big hand, try to put as much money in there as possible!

Hand #2: At 25NL this is probably fine, but I would prefer you lead into the raiser on the flop to find out where you are (of course I do this with sets also, so this advice isn't likely good for 99% of the people since everyone always check/raises in this spot). You are committed after the turn raise.

Hand #3: Put at least $4 on the flop. Betting less than 1/2 of the pot is almost always incorrect. If you bet $4 on the flop, you don't let your opponent have the correct implied odds to chase his gutshot.

A: I don't like QT as much as other one gappers like J9 and T8 - it is a dangerous hand. You were lucky to find one of those I-cant-fold-AK-no-matter-what retards. Check calling is also very weak play. Don't do it. Raise or fold unless you a good reason to check call.

B: you have to reraise QQ there - how else do you define the Victim's range? You got lucky. More check calling on the flop - lead it out man, don't risk giving free cards.

C: With 3 limpers your raise is too small. If one calls, they all call for pot odds. Too risky. On the flop your bet is pathetic. I know you want to extract value, but in the long run 3/4 pot bets are correct here. I agree with Wes that $4 or $5 is correct here. Weak leads work better in higher games where aggressive opponents will pounce but in the donkey games they just call. I like the bet in $5/10NL but not down here. Ditto on the turn. River is too dangerous to call. Just fold and admit you are beat when raised. Even if you pushed the turn he was calling.

Thanx for the humor. I remember these games - very tough to make money with the rake and the donkey plays being the norm.

You do realize he hit the straight on the turn and really didn't need the overkill of the straight flush on the river.

alright let see if can break this down:
#1:q10c not a great hand but ur in LP and u have position on the raiser so not a bad call...though i never would have called a raise with q10 to a MP raiser in the first place unless it was a player who plays poorley post flop. With a monster flop like that there is no reason not to either lead out on the flop or CR the shit out of that flop. By calling u have no idea where you stand if or what the guy has. Same thing with the turn play u have no idea.

Hand 2#: QQ is a very marginal hand in a cash game and i treat it as such. One of my biggest strengths is the following play. When u are facing a rasier with QQ u have to RR the pot. Ur flat call of the raise was a mistake right there. By raising you can find out where you stand....Do you see a them in the two hands so far RAISE RAISE RAISE...im gonna write a post about raising later today. Secondly if u want to smooth call the flop you have to raise the turn. With a scary turn like that and u getting raised u have to know ur beat. With all sorts of hands q10, 98, j9 all knock QQ.

Hand #3:
Preflop rasie is fine...but what is with that bet on the flop. SOOOOO weak and you know what u did wrong though im sure even if u bet pot the guy would have called u anways so i dont think there is much you could have done other then drop it on the river. ONce again that board is so terrible straight draws, two pair all over the place that u should know ur beat. Secondly when u bet weak on the river and someone raises they usually want a call. People at that level dont raise the river iwthout a strong hand. You should have known that and folded.

From those three hand i recommend the following play...for a session or an hour or whatever it is play it without calling. EITHER RAISE OR FOLD. It will change ur game

Do NOT bonus chase on Full Tilt. It takes forever to clear anything, unless you're playing higher limits.

First hand - Top pair, good kicker and a flush draw. I probably raise on the flop here to see where you are, if he reraises, then I probably let go. The fact that you called down to the river is pretty scary considering an overpair or set. This is a case of getting lucky without a good read on someone other than he was maniac.....you very easily get stacked here.

Second hand - Check-call on the flop gets you no information at all. I would have a hard time letting go of this hand at this point though.......unless I raised and got reraised on the flop. His reraise PREFLOP screamed of a biggie.......obviously.......but you didn't get any info on your flop check-call. If you open bet pot on the flop and are raised, then you can make a decision to drop at that point (hard to do with overpair on flop). After you open bet on the turn, you had to call his raise........again, got lucky.

Third hand - The flop bet was weak with TPTK as it wasn't even half the pot. As it played out, I probably dump on the river and lick my wounds.....even though you've invested 40% of your stack to this point. Straight, Flush, and 2 pair creams you here, so why call? Save the 12 bucks.
