Bloggers are Ghey

I love this Blogger community. There is really one thing I like about it. I post hands and hit the girlie chat and I have guys who are a hundred times better then me who have my back and are willing to spend there valuable time for absolutely nothing in return to teach me the game.

There are the guys like MiamiDon who not only smacks me around when I get out of line but gives me rides all over Vegas. What is there not to like about this guy? Raveen is always willing to make comments in the girlie chat. Iggy is a great person to talk strategy and poker concepts with. Pauly takes time out of his busy schedule to come down to Foxwoods and show me around the room. JJ listens to my ramblings on hands all the time. Even Ick, although I have no idea what he is good for, is willing to waste his time with me. So many people have made my game what it is today and I can not list you all.

There are also the ones who just throw great strategy posts out there just in the off chance that it might help someone. The Felicia Lee's of the world. She is a fucking poker genius people. As far as knowing a lot about almost every game out there. She spends hours writing Psychology and Strategy posts for absolutely no reason except the love of the game. Even if I am the perennial favorite in her worst blog ever category I appreciate her hard work. The DoubleAs type player who just makes money hand over fist in this game. He is one of the NLHE players I most want to be like. Well at least his bankroll is! He has mad skillz people. He is constantly posting hands and explaining in depth why he played certain ways.

Even my boy Rhymes with Joker who is always willing to lay his life bare like your truly. I am glad to see him posting again! Let me post a comment though you dimwit!

With all of this support out there you would think people would be willing to listen. However most bloggers seem to be so defensive, and so unwilling to look at the way they play, that it is just baffling. The best thing about my game I think is not where it is or how good I am, the best thing is that I am constantly probing. I know I have such a long ways to go. However I listen and absorb everything that this wealth of experience has to say. I probe back and ask them if they know why they do or say something. I figure out why what they do works. I then decide how I can work that into my game and every year I think my game improves. I may never have the skills to really make it playing poker. I will never give up trying though. I will constantly leech everything I can from these people and strive to not just be good at poker but to be the best. It is a goal that is probably unattainable but one you have to reach for.

I was joking with Fluxer last night that I want to be good enough to laydown overpair Aces on a non-scary board. In some ways this is difficult. I want to be able to fold kings pre-flop and let go of sets when higher sets have me beat. I want to make the reads that seem psychic. I have a long ways to go. If I stop listening to the people who give so much to this community I will fail. If I am willing to let go of my ego (which is very difficult) and figure out what these people are trying to show me then I will be successful beyond any dreams I have about my game right now. So listen and learn people. Do not be idiots.

Learning is one thing.

Retaining and implementing is something you need to work on.

You should never fold pocket aces on scary boards when you know you're beat. Pocket aces always win, don't they?
