I quit

I have had it with poker. Cya. I do not think I have the mentality for poker. Also I am starting to beleive if you put enough monkeys at a poker table you will get rivered every single time. It gets to the point where it is pure luck to win a hand, because 8 other people are seeing the river. I know, this is supposed to be a good thing. Bah! I have had it. I am taking a break. Next post will be sometime in June. I guess I at least owe you guys the secret mystery of my name.. however it probably is not worth waiting for.

I think Nick and Jessica's relationship have less high and lows.

Seriously, go out and bonus whore to pad the variance a bit. I've had a horrible two months yet on the ledger I've broken even/lost a little.

Nothing wrong with a break now and again......even if it is for a month.

Work a little extra, make a little extra money and then take some of that to a live game and you'll get the love back.

Back off the online play....it's cold. I don't like it (or play much of it) myself.

It's very possible that your introspective analysis is correct, you may not have the mentality even though there's no doubt you've got a decent helping of skill.

I'm not one to admonish people not to quit, if your head is where it seems to be, a break is probably what you need more than anything.

If the bug comes back, learn from the past six months and take it slowly. Build slowly and use the bonuses if they are still around.

I suspect with the jumping around that you do in limits and games that you're actually a little bored with the game and that translates into taking risks to up the excitement. The usually yields the desired result along with a hole in the bankroll.

Good luck either way man, it's been a fun read.

I think this is perhaps the wisest decision you have made in the history of your blog.

I can't say things tenderly, I have no tact, so I just end up saying them straight out. Don't be offended.

I wish you the best, I'm sure you will find another hobby that is right for you. Poker is not right for you.

Sorry to see ya' go SirF, easily one of my favorite Poker blogs to peruse, but I - as does every poker player - know sometimes you just have to take a step back.

I recommend catching some TV shows on DVD to pass the time... Firefly, Wonderwalls, even Aqua Teen, if you really need to clear your mind!
