Up another one?

Ok Readers. I hit the magic number to go up to 5/10! Sike! 3K! I gave a little back, but I went over my bankroll number, so I am going to consider myself sufficently bankrolled. So does anyone thing I should go up? Stay? Comments?

Here are my stats for the 3/6 level. I do not have enough hands to really judge if I am killing 3/6, but it looks good so far.

VP$IP Down to 18.47.
BB/100: 4.15. This is considered doing EXTREMELY well.
BB/HR: 2.81. Again a nice number.
4504 hands. Smallish sample size, but not so small that it says nothing.
Probably means I am beating 3/6. My BB/100, BB/HR will probably normalize around
2-3.

Anyone see any reason for me not to go up? I am going to ask this on 2+2 so I can get flamed, and also on Talking Poker. It is a nice new forum. Go see Bad Blood for the link. I will put it up here later.

You seem confident, have the bankroll for it, I say here com ethe 5/10 games! If you were "should I/shouldn't I, I don't know what do you think" I would say no, but you seem almost certain that you will anyway, good luck to you!

I don't think you have anything to lose by trying, right?

Do it.

I imagine you're going to make the jump regardless of the feedback, so good luck.

That said, one could argue that you shouldn't jump up a level until you've endured a seemingly never-ending, ball-bustin' stretch of losing cards at the current level you're playing. 4500 hands really isn't that many and it doesn't sound like you've encountered rough waters at 3/6.

Or, more simply, it's a lot easier to jump than it is to crawl back. Make the jump but don't be stubborn and tilt out if the inevitable losing streak smacks you in the face at 5/10. You can bleed money and tilt a good bit at 1/2 and still recover nicely but not at 5/10.

Yeah, I haven't seen where you've taken a beating on the tables so much. I pretty much took a beating for well...all of October. 2 separate $700+ downswings.

I was having a -50 BB night last night. I played enough hands to turn it around though.

4500 hands/$3k roll is PLENTY move it up

you'd have to be a horrific player to go broke playing 5/10 at party with that much behind you

I have had my share of trouble in my 4 months of play.

A. Busted out my whole 1200 Bankroll because I was an undiciplined moron.

B. Few weeks ago playing 1/2, 100BB downturn over two weeks. That one hurt. I could not make a hand for over two weeks. I finally got on a nice roll.

C. Few days ago busted 50BB in one session which really sucked. It was not as hard to deal with, but it hurt. Biggest loss every. Followed it up with the biggest winning day ever so that took the sting out.

As Chris sometimes tells me, "Shut up and stop whining" (Paraphrase). I have not yet hit the months of no profit or losing play, where not a card will hit. Everything gets busted. Nothing goes right. That in itself is a scary thought!

I think you should try it. I started with 1 table for a while. Went to two tables that same night. Now I'm used to playing 4 tables at a time. Last night, I started with 2 tables, then went to 4 tables. When I hit 4 tables, things started to turn around.

The biggest difference between 3/6 and 5/10 is that the 5/10 players can be more aggressive. There were a couple hands when I capped the flop and the turn with a player and then stepped back because I thought I was beat when I actually had them dominated.

I think you will do fine at 5/10. You'll definitely be hooked once you rake in your 1st $200+ pot.
