Effing Blogger

Goddamn motherfuckers deleted my post? WHAT THE FUCK! How does that "fix" any problem? Now my words are gone forever! Fucking 5 comments *poof* gone. Assholes. Fucking Blogger can lick my taint!

I read VeryJosie the other day (probably deleted by blogger) and she was talking about how Full Tilt is not owed any loyalty and how they are probably fucking rats that will stiff everyone. I have no problem with her saying these things and she may be proven right. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if it happened.

It goes to show the difference between the old school bloggers and these new kids though. I really like the new kids. They are very nice people. Some of my favorites. However I think they have no clue how much we have been given.

It is not just the Full Tilt and Pokerstars sites that I feel loyalty to. I mean at the bottom they are just money hungry companies like any other. The bloggers that stuck their necks out to get stuff done are why I feel loyalty to these two companies.

I mean back in the day when people like Hank, Al, Otis, went to their evil taskmasters and were like "Hey these bloggers are good people and we should do [x] with them".. they stuck their necks out. Nobody was sure what kind of result would occur. We got paid advertising, BBT's, extra gifts added to blogger events, free food, all kinds of WSOP packages. In total I am sure we go back wayyyy more than we added to the bottom lines of these places. All because good, old school bloggers were willing to either hit up their bosses, put their reps on the line, work really hard and get things done.

We as a group as a whole has shown no appreciation for any of this. I do not say this to be an asshole and I realize that their are circumstances in many cases but we have kept the money for WSOP packages, we have taken money at our events and then if our ten bucks is trapped online for a week all of the sudden we turn like vapid vermin and attack our benefactors.

Like I said before I do wish that Full Tilt would communicate with more people in a more open way. They have NEVER been good about that. I applaud Pokerstars getting money back to people so fast. It really is top notch customer service. I personally think that Full Tilt is going to get there. I believe it because of all of the awesome things they have done for us as a group in the past. I believe it because they have done nothing that makes me doubt them. I will believe it until I am proven wrong. Until then I will not act like a spoiled brat. Peace.

Not lost, Hoss. Bloggers data blog indicates they've saved the last two days of posts.

What a frustrating day. We’re very sorry that you’ve been unable to publish to Blogger for the past 20.5 hours. We’re nearly back to normal — you can publish again, and in the coming hours posts and comments that were temporarily removed should be restored. Thank you for your patience while we fix this situation. We use Blogger for our own blogs, so we’ve also felt your pain.

Here’s what happened: during scheduled maintenance work Wednesday night, we experienced some data corruption that impacted Blogger’s behavior. Since then, bloggers and readers may have experienced a variety of anomalies including intermittent outages, disappearing posts, and arriving at unintended blogs or error pages. A small subset of Blogger users (we estimate 0.16%) may have encountered additional problems specific to their accounts. Yesterday we returned Blogger to a pre-maintenance state and placed the service in read-only mode while we worked on restoring all content: that’s why you haven’t been able to publish. We rolled back to a version of Blogger as of Wednesday May 11th, so your posts since then were temporarily removed. Those are the posts that we’re in the progress of restoring.

Again, we are very sorry for the impact to our authors and readers. We try hard to ensure Blogger is always available for you to share your thoughts and opinions with the world, and we’ll do our best to prevent this from happening again.

Guess what? You're about to be extremely surprised. Unlike you, I had more than $50 in my account, and unlike you, it wasn't given to me, I earned it.

Yeah and you were happy when you were chowing on Full Tilts food and getting money for lasting longer.. oh wait, no, you missed that one. :P. I bet you even still have a card dealer or one of the shirts they gave out.. hmm? Not sure you won any money in the BBT.. hmm.. When you do get paid you should apologize for your lack of faith.

Oh and I have a lot more than 50 tied up in FT right now and I won it also.

You can go to hell for lying too.

But, I won't say that. I've had a problem figuring just who you were like. I have finally broke it down.

You aren't Leonard.

Have a good day Sheldon!

Meh, we'll get money back at some point - but that's because it's good business to do so, not because FTP is full of sugar and spice and everything nice.

Yes, there was a lot of BBT money thrown at bloggers - as a marketing/advertising ploy. "Sticking their neck out" makes it seem like people were guaranteeing freeroll moneys out of their own pockets.

Stars or Tilt should have been splashing money around because it was smart business, not because they were ballas at a club and we were grinding our asses on their lap looking for $$$.

It always felt there was a lot of $$$ tossed around without any accompanying interest or care about what happened to it. Ask Loretta8, QueensUp or some other BBT winners.

It's no surprise that bloggers acted like they were working a john and pocketed most of the $$$. Treat em like a prostitute, that's what you get.

Put it this way. In retrospect, I should have been playing a lot more on Stars than Tilt - they deserved my business more for a vast number of reasons.

But I ended up on FTP most of the time, basically due to blogger tournaments and the BBT. That's about $15-20K in rake I contributed in cash/MTTs/SnG games that didn't go to Brand X.

Multiply that by the 50-100 bloggers who consistently played on FTP over the last five years.

They got their money's worth and appreciation - the added money was a simple business transaction, nothing more. Both sides got what they wanted. Enough said.

The people who stuck their necks out were the bloggers who got all this rolling not Full Tilt or Stars.

Waffles, aren't you are overstating the issue? Blogger tourneys and series existed way before the sites ever cared or got involved.

All guys like Al and Otis should have been doing was leveraging a highly engaged first-adopter community and then presenting a low-risk promotional opportunity to their sites that may or may not payoff long term... if they were risking their jobs on bloggers actually following through... well, you probably know inside info I don't - but man, that would have been extremely silly for all parties involved.

All I'm trying to point out is FTP didn't drop 50K in Al's lap to give to BBT players every spring and got nothing back for it. It would have been a completely stupid move on FTP's part to do it otherwise.

They got value - maybe not as much as they hoped - but it wasn't that big of a gamble.

I agree the companies got value from the relationships.. I do not think we should be rah rah rah forever if FT does not make good.. but I think it buys them some goodwill in my opinion.
