Ooops.. Don't tell..

Wired Aces (Poker Quest) caught me playing today. I was stressed out with the kids and Poker is a great release! Well that lasted one day.. lol. I had my usual session at 5/10. Down a buyin, then win it all back and some more. One hand that helped alot is as follows. I think I played it perfectly. After getting crushed with killer hands against flushes earlier tonight, this felt good:

I saw you have an Empire Affiliate code. I checked out the site last night and was disappointed to see very few people online. Seemed even less than Pacific.

Of course, it was 3 am EST, so I need to check it out again during prime time.

Also, I'm so used to playing 8-10 seat ring games, I nearly always have enough callers to chase draws. How are you finding the 6-seat games changing your strategy?

On average there are 60K people online. They do not have an 8/16 level. I never have problems at any time getting full tables.

I like 5/6-short sometimes because of the speed of the game. I think adjusting your game too much is a bad idea. I know alot of people play Ax, but if I play my A-Game I think I eventually catch there A3o with my AKo and make alot of money. It is soooo loose because people are afraid of the blinds that playing a tight game is a good idea.

I tend to bluff a little more at that level. If you play tight for a while and call down all good hands, then you can say you have an Ace when you do not, and people will beleive you.. just do not too TOO much of it.

Caveat: I know nothing. I like to make comments on everything.

I think you played it correctly too.

After you bet out, you could have been re-raising instead of calling on the flop. No pairs on the board. You had a draw to the second nut flush, and in a short handed game, I'd expect that to be more than good enough. You also had two backdoor straight draws. And you had an overcard. Even discounting some of the outs slightly for the possible danger it could put you into with other hands, you had lots of ways to make your hand, and would make it by the river more than 25% of the time. As it turns out, your top pair draw was not going to be good enough against the assrapers or the preflop raiser, but how could you possibly know that?
