Stud Hand

Did I screw this up badly. My thinking was I had a monster draw on 5th street so I should get as much money in the pot as possible. I missed everything which in itself is not unusual. When do you jam and when do you let the foot off the gas here?

The Schedule

I got a busy few months coming up. I will be disapearing for a week. I am going down to the Shore near AC. I probably will just relax on the beach all week and chase the kiddies. Some poker is possible but highly unlikely.

Next month or so I got my best friend John's Batchelor party. Ok. Ok. You caught me. Carmen is my best friend. However this is distant second!

Ok, here’s the final gig plans. (Print it and bring it as reference biatches)

Here is the itinerary:

Weekend is paid for and scheduled with the appropriate entertainment directors.

I spent all day yesterday in Maine booking and testing out MANY lap dances…
Baaaaaa……lol.. just kiddin, I was pleasantly surprised…

**************

Thursday @ 5pm - 6pm – Pull Bock out of work – Depending if I have outside influence or not.

I plan on having a few drinks in Salem before we leave, prolly Salem BeerWorks…

Leave Salem MA @ 9pm at the absolute latest.

Head straight to Platinum Plus in Portland ME by 10pm or 11pm.

Sorry, I said Portsmouth NH before, I meant Portland….my bad…

Platinum Plus has Amateur Night Thursday nights at midnight.

So I plan on being there a little early like I said 10 or 11 pm.

Platinum Plus is open until 4am I think. Gives you plenty of time to sober up from 11pm.

Regular girls working before and after Amateurs.

And I have personally pin pointed which ones are great at there job.

FYI – stay away from the Champaign room, its $200 plus the girl fee ($200 plus).

Lap dances are $20 bucks and I can tell you which ones will be well worth it.

At some point (hopefully after most of you show up @ 11pm, or after the amateurs) we will have Bock up on stage and abused by the girls.

Once he has been abused and we all have had our fair share of entertainment we will make the trip west to North Sebago.

Go all the way down the road, it bares hard right onto dirt, then curves back and forth.

***********************

Friday we have 3 groups of 4 golfers T-times back to back starting at 10:30am.

It’s a 18 hole golf course. They do rent clubs. They don’t let you bring your own beer, HIDE IT…lol..

Friday after the golf outing I figure we hit the house and have a BBQ or something.

Which reminds me …. We need to get food and beer while we are up there on Friday am.

The Real Estate agent thinks it’s a golf / fishing weekend FYI -

You also need to bring your own sheets and towels.

And bathing suit, we have a dock and the water is warm.

The house has:

7 bedrooms,
Ping pong table,
Volleyball / badminton net in the backyard overlooking the lake.
Huge living room,
Huge deck off the living room,
And a dock to swim off of.

Friday night we will hit Naples and chill at Ricks Bar.

***************************

Saturday @ 8am we are picking up a 19’ boat with either a tube to pull or water ski or both.

If you rather jet ski’s then you’ll need to schedule on your own.

We have the boat from 8am - 5pm. (Gas not included).

We can pull the boat right up to the dock or there’s a mooring right off shore of the house.

After Tubing and or skiing we will kick back and have a BBQ and chill or play volley or something.

Then somewhere after 7pm there may be a VERY bad school girl showing up.

She has a flat fee, but depends on tips. So don’t let her down. PLEASE.

Lap dances are only $5 and the bachelor will get a lot of attention up front.

She will stay an hour but more if she feels she is doing a good job.

She will have a bouncer. She auctions her panties off in the end (which Bock should get).

Or…err… the best man….its good reminder for gathering afterwards we can toast to it.

Afterwards we can either go to Ricks Bar again or chill and razz Bock….

*****************************

Sunday , chill , breakfast and then boot.

*****************************

School Girl is $250 we can split or you can sit in the closet and jack off to the sounds.

*********************************

The Bash at the boathouse is coming up after that and maybe another trip to Vegas! The social schedule is looking up.

We can do this forever if you want..

I think I may start up a competing Poker comic to Dugggles. He has inspired me to great things. Until then here is a little taste:

I hate this play

I stacked someone in NLHE last night. Except I think I played the hand all wrong. I am dealt AA in the MP with some limpers and I raise it on up. I get one caller and the flop comes Jxx. He pushes and I insta-call. His JT is no goot, especially when I turn another Ace. I do not like my play here. Not because I called with the best hand but because I insta-called. I think you need to consider what might beat you. Take into account the player. I may have made the same call but I hate the speed at which I made the call. Sure the massive overbet seemed like a weak ass move with a crappy top pair but I love stacking people with Aces who do not think.

It is a difficult hand. If I am playing against someone who I KNOW can not fold Aces Drizz who I respect alot said to me: Nobody pushes a set there. I push a monster on that flop sometimes. I get paid. I laugh. It all depends on my read of the persons ability to laydown TPTK. I guess what I am hung up on is the instinctual pissing match you get into when someone shows a ton of strength against a hand you consider strong. It was an instant call and a primordial response to aggression. Not necessarily a good move. Oh well.

I did make a nice play last night by reading the hand history. I have 77 on a Q65 board. It is checked around. Another small card hits and one guy bets small. I call. The river is yet another small card. The guy pots it. I think about the hand. He does not get excited until everyone checks around the first time. Even then his bets are small. I put him on second pair: 66, and think I have him beat. I call. I am right. Oh well at least I can think sometimes.

HE goot Studland Bat

I played some more stud last night. I am in a weird spot. I do not really have the bankroll to play 2/4 but then again the .25/.50 game is stupid. I wish the 1/2 game was more lively. I will probably just play 2/4 since I am not looking at Stud as being my main source of income and losing a buyin here and there at Stud will not be a huge burden.

I played a little with Slb last night. Busted him once with Aces over sevens. He actually hit trip-sixes on the river so I am somewhat surprised he did not raise me anywhere.

I also played with some named Maigrey. Now I know a Maigrey, AKA. Marge and she probably would not be playing low stakes Stud and if she did I would HOPE TO GOD she would be better than this player. As much as I like to tease Marge she is someone who I respect.

I basically lost my buyin when I completed with a Jack showing and one in the bucket, made a 3rd Jack by 5th street, and then she hit runner tens on 5th and 6th street to make two pair with her fours AND rivered a four to beat me. Ouchie. I was betting this hand every street and she never had a card higher than a ten. She also did not have a decent low draw. I may be missing some of the subtle points to stud but pocket fours against probable pocket jacks just does not seem like a chasing hand.

It was not all bad. Earlier on I had a nice hand. The kind of hand in Stud you dream of besides the scoop of a large pot is one where you have the NUT low and the guys with the high are fighting it out. I was able to get into that situation once. Where nobody else even had a possability of a low so I kept raising and re-raising as two guys fought it out for the other half.

I still find Stud relaxing. I like things you can sink your mind deeply into and forget everything else. All that your thinking of is what people have, what you have, and the next move. It is very absorbing. Probably why I like programming too.

Last night was Wall Street though baby. I made all my money playing HE. Most of it on one table where people were extra retarded. I was getting some good hands but the extra-retarded part helped. One of my first hands I raise with AK and get called by a guy with KJ. The King hits the flop and I bet small to induce a bluff raise. I hope he thinks I have an underpair. He raises me. I re-raise him and stack him. Unfortunatly he was a small 10$ stack. Luckily for me he wanted to donate some more to me along with his cousin dumbass. They both kept calling my raises with hands like K5o and donating large sums of money when my AK hit or my QQ flopped sets. Sometimes poker seems too easy.

Studly

I have been having fun playing a little Stud-8 lately. Of all the hi-lo games I barely know how to play this is the most fun one. I am not very good at it. I seem to be better than the competition at .50/1 or even 1/2.. but still, not very good. Stud is a nice relaxing game for me. Unlike NLHE. The game of NLHE is like a stock broker job on Wall Street. It is high stress. High anxiety. Action. Speed. Fun. It tends to wear you out sometimes. Stud is like coming home to relax on the beach after work. It is soothing. I am sure if I was good enough to remember each card dealt it would be alot harder. Something about the game is just relaxing. I think it might be because you almost always can tell where you are. Sure people can bluff at the flush or pretend to have boated up. On occassion you get tricked by hidden quads or boats. It is much easier to see where you might be in relationship to everyone else though. Now if I could get Don to stop calling me an Old Man I would be all set.

You Suck

Yet again Duggles proves how pathetic and really just totally sad he is. He asks Slb to get me into a chat so he can tell me how great of a player he is. You see his life is so worthless that all he has left is to follow me around Full Tilt and take note of any mistake I make. I think that in Africa they shit in the toilet and look to see if there are any worms in the shit and if they find one they call all there friends and say: Duggles! Duggles! Although I may be giving you too much credit there.

He then tells me how I should realize what a great player he is and goes through all of his great exploits. I do not give a shit. I will state it here and now and forever I say you suck. It may not be true. It might be. The truth is probably somewhere in between. If I want to say you suck though it is my prerogative. So you suck. You can say as loud as you want that I can not say it, but I just did. See. You suck. I did it again. You see this is my blog and I can make any statement I please. You can whine and cry and say it is not true. That is what you can do. However you can not stop me from saying it. See. You suck. I actually like saying it. It sounds pretty good and probably could make a new feature of the week.

For someone who named his blog GoBeRude you can not take ANYTHING. You love to dish it out. Tell people how much they suck and how you hate their blogs, the way they dress, the way they speak, how they work, whatever. If someone says ANYTHING a little contrary to you forget it. You go ballistic. You have the least self esteem of anyone I have had the misfortune of not meeting in my life. So in conclusion: YOU SUCK!

Mother Fucking Sevens On the Mother Fucking Plane

You think I could beat one of these guys?

Tuff Fish

I love this guy. He is so funny. I think I need to do a Tuff Fishtm cast of my own one of these nights. I will say I think he falls in love with his TPTK hands a little too much but I would not call him a horrible player. Any comments? Most of his thinking seems fairly solid.

Interesting Blog..

I can not get enough of this shit. I mean 20K, 30K, 50K pots. Its amazing! I highly reccomend this railbirds blog!

Multi-Untalented

Played Razz. Lost. Played Stud-8. Won Big. Played HE. Lost. Played O8. Won Big. Split games were good to me tonight. Peace.

Super Cricket Circus

My son has decided he likes the crickets that his frogs eat much more than the frogs himself. He has taken four of them and started JMan's Wonderful Cricket Circus. He has one named jumpy who does a trick called "Eiffle Tower". Basically my son puts the little guy on his finger, lifts him way into the air, and shouts "JUMP" until he leaps down to the ground.. unhurt in any way. If that does not work a well placed push is good too. Look for the traveling circus coming to your town soon. Eight is a fun age.

Poker is poker. Won around fifty bucks in the past few days. Had a straight hold against a set. Had a couple of two outer suckouts. A bad play here and there. Nothing special. The 5.50 MTT still keeps kicking me in the balls. I was short stacked in last nights game with 200+ left. I pushed with A9 s000ted and was called by KJo. Insta-call. Half his stack. I guess it was a good play as the flop came KQx. A nine on the turn came just to rub it in. At least that is better than my last two attempts where I have been two-outered.

The higher aggression cash game thing is working out well too. I tend to take down alot of small pots and piss people off all at the same time. Once one of the pissed off people starts playing back against me I adjust and wait for a good hand. Soon after they slide all their chips to me. It is fun stuff. It is a little nerve wracking looking down on pocket 4's and hitting the raise button AND then c-betting on the Axx flop. It seems to work though. gl.

Aggression

So I was having a normal night, you know, QQ vs 77, out of my MTT.. couple two outer rivers.. that kind of stuff. Even misplayed a hand or two and got lucky and sucked out. So I am down to 10$ on one table and I make a decision. I am going to practice aggression. So I decide if I am going to play two cards I am going to raise. I am also going to c-bet. The idea is two fold. Not unique. JJ calls it Wes style. Basically it makes me do two things. Either have good cards or have good position. I am not too interested in raising KTo in EP where I limp with it sometimes. It also makes me stick to good position with hands like 24h, etc..

So what did I learn? I am not sure. It worked well. I went on a +60$ run in a very short time. Somewhat due to cards. Partially due to JJ. Also I took down alot of 2$ pots that were 1-3 way with semi-bluff c-bets. I was willing to drop these hands if I got resistance but more times than not people just folded flops when an Ace or King hit. Those hands allowed me to add $10 to my stack and when I hit a nice hand with JJ I was able to take full advantage and stack him good.

I will continue to experiment. I think it takes HUGE reads on your opponents to pull this off. Some people will just never fold. You need to identify the right people to play this way against. Especially at the donkey-call-with-any-pair level of Poker I am stuck at.

It's a Sign Jerry!

Every time I think I might want to be sociable and nice to people. I might want to I dunno.. go to group meetings where there are like people.. I get reminded why I dislike people on general principal. I went to the cancer survivor picnic this weekend. Now the cancer kids make me feel bad because nobody likes to see what they go through. I can however cut them some slack. They have had a hard time. The guy I can not cut any slack to is the "Couch potato" idiot. I thought I was bad in public. This guy is sitting there. He has a HUGE stomach. Is he hiding it? No. He has his shirt up to his sagging man tits and is picking his belly button. I swear if he ate it I would have gone off. I do not care that there were 19 cops at the picnic. I love it when my shunning of humanity is proven right.

I went on a Job interview today. I rule at getting jobs. My current job has had some slow periods a few days off here and there. I am getting a little tired of it so I decided to look. I interviewed. I got offered a job two hours after I left. I am the man. It feels good to be exceptionally good one thing at least.

I thought in my thirty six years of life I had seen every way my body could turn against me but I figured out a new way today. I was just waking up from a little nap I took. I had to wake up at 6:30 this morning and I am NOT a morning person. So you know when you wake up you usually have that little dream. You know the one. Where two hot chicks grab your arms and pin you to the bed, sucking your nipples, as a third nympho goes in between for a little deep throat action. Excuse me I am getting off topic. So I get out of bed and I have to pee. I have done this many times before. I whip it out and start pee'ing mostly in the bowl. All of a sudden my hand slips and my dick slings pee all over my face. I was shocked! I did not even know it was possible to piss on your own face. I mean can you imagine the 911 call if that shit got in my eyes.

"Hello 911, what is your Emergency!"
"I pissed in my eye and it stings!!! HELP!"
"*snicker* Excuse me Sir?"

I was truly amazed. I am a talented induhvidual. Oh well that is all I have for now. I think pissing in your face is a sure sign that you are ready to play poker again so I am going to hit the tables once more. Wish me luck!

I can be childish too

Friendly Advice

Here is some friendly advice for people just starting out in poker: STOPPPP!!!! Ok. Perhaps that is not good advice. It is a difficult game though.

See you begin playing the game and maybe you have one bad night and you tilt off and go up levels. Bust a few bankrolls. You then eventually get a little smarter and you do not let a bad day bother you.

You are then ready for weeks. This is the stage I am at now. I can handle the bad night or the evil loss at an MTT. I know tomorrow there is another game. The part that gets me now is when your going along for a week and you see your bankroll slowly declining all week long. You are getting bad beat after bad beat. You shrug them off but the cumulative effect gets to you. I am sure there are plenty of people who can shrug this off too. I have seen and heard of people who have had months of variance. Possibly even years?

Even the most hardened poker player has to have trouble dealing with this. I have spoken to several professional players who have taken huge swings in variance and it has absolutely effected them. So as I look back I can see that I handle tilt much better than ever before and as I look ahead I see I have a ways to go. It only gets harder as you become a better player in some ways. The beats you take stop becoming coin flips edges that you lose and people end up having to beat you when they are 70-95% behind. So while I have a ways to go I am happy with how far I have come. I really appreciate people like Wes and JJOK who are willing to open their souls and let us know when they fuck up. See you back on the felt at the end of the week. Until then - Be careful out there.

Stupid Comments

I was going to relax for the week but I might as well flame a few of the comments I have gotten recently. Who knows maybe it will put me in a better mood.

First off I have been getting a lot of comments about the hand where I had a FLOPPED straight and went all in against three other players. The interesting comment was about how I should think through my hands before I act. Let us break this down. I flopped a straight. I had the shizz nutz. If I thought about the hand the best scenario I can have is a guy overplaying AA/KK. This is actually what I thought I had and I was wrong. In that scenario I am a 94% favorite to win this hand. Now the other slightly lower probability scenario is someone had raised in ep with 66 or 44 or something. In this case I am 67% to win this hand. So worse case scenario I win this almost 7 out of 10 times. Best case I win this around 9 out of 10 times. I am getting 3-1 on every dollar I put into this hand. How can anyone say that I should fold? Even if I put the guy on the best hand possible I am getting 3-1 on a hand I win 7 times! I am fucking going to be rich!!!! I make $525 for every $75 I invest. Something like that. I suck at math. There is no way in hell I should ever fold this. This hand was played perfectly by me. I rule.

Now lets turn to last nights hand. Mr. Annoymous (Duggles? Slb?) said "What do you expect pushing with Jacks".. well, what I expected was one of three things. I would get called with a superior hand like AA/KK/QQ and be drawing to two outs. I hoped nobody had this. I would be called by a 50/50 race hand. Something like AK-KQ. In this case I would be racing for my life and hope that I would win the coinflip. The last scenario was all other hands I did not mention in which case I am 70-80% favored to win this hand. I got the best possible situation I could hope for and lost. So why push with Jacks? Well if you know ANYTHING about MTTs which apparently you do not when your stack gets low compared to the blinds you need to push with a good hand and hope for the best. Period. I had 5500 in chips and the blinds were 500. I got a VERY good starting hand in Jacks (Just as JJ) and I pushed. I made the best possible move and got the best possible call. A guy called off over half his chips with pocket 9's. Unfortunately he hit his two outer and won. Why I would not want to push as a 80%+ leader I am not sure. Why I would not want to push with a stack that was becoming alarmingly small I do not know. Why you know nothing about poker I could speculate on but I really can not understand.

So that is it for my idiot rant of the day. I think it worked. I am feeling better already. Someday if you get to be good as me (and I am not very good) then you might understand. Until then keep losing money and chasing deposit bonus's and leave the poker to the professionals.

Closed for Retirement

I am done. I will be back in a week. I have been patient with Poker but when it keeps giving me the ole 2-finger fuck up the ass and does not even leave me flowers in the morning I am done. See you in a week or so.

I am so glad I decided to play the 25K

CHAT: REVOKED!

I know it is hard to believe huh? First time ever. Funny shit though. I first have to say it was the other guys who started it and if the site does not investigate I will be angry. I love this site and will not say anything bad about it EXCEPT they need more English speaking support people.

Support:It has come to our attention that you have been abusing your chat privileges at the tables by soliciting other players for money.

2006-08-12 go mug a jew you suck at poker

Now let me say this was in response to a nasty comment about Jews and I am Jewish. Yes I know it is hard to believe but it is true. My mother was a full bread and I am a half bread with my crazy ass protestant father who probably never should have reproduced.

I finally straightened that out and pointed them to the right people. However they are prrrrobbbably not going to reinstate my chat for a while. So people I am not ignoring you. I will say I probably should have kept my mouth shut and this ban may be a good thing.

I wanted to say one other thing. If your going to asterisks out swear words, give users the ability to shut off chat for one person or the whole room, and do some things like that then what is the point in banning people's chat? I mean you have given all the necessary tools. Let people be adults and use them.

Sorry Little Camper

I appolgize to Duggles. I left this nasty comment on his blog in response to his latest comic.

What are the chances 85 comics would not be funny at all?

I was just frustrated with my night and needed someone to take it out on. So umm.. sorry.

Man what a night. I would make massively good reads only to be rivered by 1,2 and 3 outers. It was nasty. At one point I was down over $100.. Luckily I was able to go on a run on a table I sat at for 286 minutes. Basically winning 95$ profit. Making my night only slightly bad. I also played the 20K MTT and a Token Race. So I got some grinding to do to make it up. Man sometimes poker can be frustrating. As a matter of fact this whole week has been nasty. Ahh well.. there is always tomorrow..

Player Profile: LoudDownUnder

This self proclaimed table captain is a wonderful player. She plays the table to perfection curtsying and giggling as she scoops all of your money into her stack. A truely great player and someone who is always willing to give me great advice.

This Year:
  • Tournament #3 of the Melborne Championships - 5th Place
  • Mondays at the Hoy Champion
  • Schooled Don in 2/5 NLHE Cash Game when she took a ton of cash off the table and he was lucky to break even

Ok I give up I can not find anything else. Trust me though. She good. Go see her!

Committee for the Removal of Bad Beats

I am starting a new committee. It will be for the replacement of the word "Bad Beat". The committee believes that bad beats only happen when you outplay your opponent so badly that all he can do is cry and pray to god for a miracle. It would be better to call these episodes "Outplaying your Opponent", however, this is not as catchy as Bad Beat. So the purpose of this committee is to come up with a snazzy word that has a lot of synergy going for it. It will then replace the word "Bad Beat" and eventually cause harmony in the world of poker. All suggestions are welcome.

A Pictorial Night

Last Night..

Was one of THOSE nights where you flop trip 9's and get beaten by a higher kicker. Ick. Oh well. It was my worse night so far on FT and I ended down 1-Slb (I mean 2 buyins at 25/NL). What is a girl to do? Alot of it honestly was due to my play. When you push thiner edges you end up getting creamed sometimes. I just needed to play better last night. Not let frustration get to me. This game has so little to do with cards.

The Mook was the highlight of my night I think. I busted out in 12th which makes a decent finish in the last three blogger events. The best part of the night was when Mookie was small stacked and I wasted him with his own hand. I had been picking on his blinds with some decent hands and he finally pushed. It was like $190 more to call after I 3x the blinds on him so it was a no-brainer. I flipped over the MOOK (T8o) and he turned over his Satanic twins: 66. I thought all hope was gone until I nailed him with a ten on the river! MOOOOOOOKED! BWAHAHAHA! It is pretty nasty to kill a guy in his own tourney with his own hand. Yes. Indeed. The best part of the night. I finally got my just deserts when Chilly the maniac of the night (and I am sure he would fully agree) decided to run his KQ against my 77 for around 1/3-1/2 his stack. He of course spiked a Q and that was it for me. Chilly was getting luuuuuuckkkkyyy and he was enjoying it. Good game man.

One hand I am not sure that I played right in the night. I had a decent size stack and it was 3 ways with 2Kish stacks. The flop gives me 2-overs, a gutshot straight and a backdoor flush. It would have cost me another 1100 to call. I would have been able to make like 5K. I would have then been able to cover Chilly later on or even not push my sevens if I won this hand. I would have been left with like 3K if not. So I have a fairly decent drawing hand, I will not go bust, and all the pressure they can exert on me has happened. I am not sure my fold in this position was correct. In the raise that got me out of the hand came from J5o (TPSK), another call was made by KJo, albeit a small stack. My KQ would have turned the nut flush draw and rivered a Queen for a win. Perhaps I am just lamenting the fact that I actually would have won but part of me thinks taking a risk like this might have been a good MTT move. Any comments?

Pressure Poker

I finally finished reading DoubleAs book and I liked it. It is one of the first books I have read that was basically STEP II. In step I, which 90% of the books are, you get your little hand charts, and are taught how to play tight poker. While this book does take you through some of the startup concepts it goes beyond that. I explains some more advanced concepts. Actually it talks a little about some of the things I have been trying to experiment with here. Like playing small connectors against strength. It lays out the conditions that you really need for these kinds of plays to work. It explains them in depth and with simple examples. I also got alot out of the sections on how to use Poker Tracker to auto-update your notes on sites. I never knew that before! So while it covered alot of material I already knew.. it explained that in more detail. It taught a few more moves for the tool belt and explained why certain things I knew worked were good plays. I think this is a book that you should definatly read especially if you are looking for some ways to grow your thinking about poker.

Bloggers are Ghey

I love this Blogger community. There is really one thing I like about it. I post hands and hit the girlie chat and I have guys who are a hundred times better then me who have my back and are willing to spend there valuable time for absolutely nothing in return to teach me the game.

There are the guys like MiamiDon who not only smacks me around when I get out of line but gives me rides all over Vegas. What is there not to like about this guy? Raveen is always willing to make comments in the girlie chat. Iggy is a great person to talk strategy and poker concepts with. Pauly takes time out of his busy schedule to come down to Foxwoods and show me around the room. JJ listens to my ramblings on hands all the time. Even Ick, although I have no idea what he is good for, is willing to waste his time with me. So many people have made my game what it is today and I can not list you all.

There are also the ones who just throw great strategy posts out there just in the off chance that it might help someone. The Felicia Lee's of the world. She is a fucking poker genius people. As far as knowing a lot about almost every game out there. She spends hours writing Psychology and Strategy posts for absolutely no reason except the love of the game. Even if I am the perennial favorite in her worst blog ever category I appreciate her hard work. The DoubleAs type player who just makes money hand over fist in this game. He is one of the NLHE players I most want to be like. Well at least his bankroll is! He has mad skillz people. He is constantly posting hands and explaining in depth why he played certain ways.

Even my boy Rhymes with Joker who is always willing to lay his life bare like your truly. I am glad to see him posting again! Let me post a comment though you dimwit!

With all of this support out there you would think people would be willing to listen. However most bloggers seem to be so defensive, and so unwilling to look at the way they play, that it is just baffling. The best thing about my game I think is not where it is or how good I am, the best thing is that I am constantly probing. I know I have such a long ways to go. However I listen and absorb everything that this wealth of experience has to say. I probe back and ask them if they know why they do or say something. I figure out why what they do works. I then decide how I can work that into my game and every year I think my game improves. I may never have the skills to really make it playing poker. I will never give up trying though. I will constantly leech everything I can from these people and strive to not just be good at poker but to be the best. It is a goal that is probably unattainable but one you have to reach for.

I was joking with Fluxer last night that I want to be good enough to laydown overpair Aces on a non-scary board. In some ways this is difficult. I want to be able to fold kings pre-flop and let go of sets when higher sets have me beat. I want to make the reads that seem psychic. I have a long ways to go. If I stop listening to the people who give so much to this community I will fail. If I am willing to let go of my ego (which is very difficult) and figure out what these people are trying to show me then I will be successful beyond any dreams I have about my game right now. So listen and learn people. Do not be idiots.

First Try at 50-NL

So I figured I would try out the 50/NL tables for a night. I was a little nervous. My bankroll is a little small for it. I basically had Satan and the Angel both screaming at me to stop being so fucking passive. You know your not playing right when both sides are yelling at you. Rav even jumped in for a few quick jabs.

Anyway I can not say I played aewsome at 50/NL but I did get my first stacking. A guy sat down who really should not be playing 50/NL. I have taken out his name to protect the innocent. I think I may have overplayed this hand but knowing the player I knew he was willing to be stacked with TPTK and I went with that read.

We had so many limpers and people never respected my raises so I decide to push it up to eight bucks. I swear to you I had pot raised KK 4 times before and gotten 1-2 callers AND every time the flop had an Ace. I of course pot bet and took it down. I even re-raised once and took that down. So here I raise to $8 to hopefully thin the field or maybe get someone to overcommit with QQ.

Good solid read and I get paid off. It makes my night and the bankroll skyrockets to a whole $667 and around $100 on Stars. Did I overplay this hand though? I think I might have. The read and having played this person before helped but that does not mean he does not have J2 for two pair or something?

If the person who I had this hand against is reading this I really mean this seriously. You need to stop falling in love with TP. I mean did you think I would raise that much with air? I just do not see going to war for your entire stack with QJo? I want you to do well in poker but you HAVE to plug this leak right now. Hell, I am feeling like I overplayed this hand and I had a pretty good hand going. Who know's maybe the person had a bad day or was totally sloshed. I have seen him consistantly do this kind of thing though and hope that they will stop.

Great Comments

On the first hand everyone says I made a monster flop. Did I? Should I be willing to go broke on what could end up being a flush draw? What am I trying to accomplish by raising big here? Am I likely ahead on this flop? I know if I am not ahead I have outs but what is the purpose of raising here.

The QQ hand is all good advice. I think I call on these hands sometimes to see if I can hit a good flop. I should just re-raise pre-flop and when he comes over the top of me fold.

Hand three is the one that I consistantly play poorly. My main problem is TPTK is a shit hand and I want to keep the pot small in case I have been outdrawn. I for sure had to fold that river but how do you play TPTK? If I lead out with $5 then do I bet the turn and pot commit myself? Do I drop it there? Am I willing to go all in? How the hell do you play these kinds of hands. The TPTK is the most common and hardest to play hand for me.

Bad Night Good Results

I feel as if my game was off tonight. I was pushing edges too much and willing to call off too much with TPTK or overpairs. Here are some hands for example. Let me know what you think. Even though I won some of these hands I think especially hand B was terrible. If I am making good decisions and losing ok. If I am making horrible ones and winning that sucks.

Hand A:
Did I overcommit with TPSK and a flush draw? I know I got lucky. I know this guy is a maniac too. I honestly thought there was a huge chance I was beat. Do you fold this to the flop bet? Turn? River? Do you raise? Are you ok with the river call? I think by the river I had gotten myself neck deep in shit and had to call.

Hand B:
This is one of my biggest weaknesses in NLHE. I am willing to stack off (sometimes) if the hand that beats me is not obvious. I thought I might be beat on the turn. However I invested alot in this hand and I had more outs by the turn. I badly play overpairs where TPTK I seem to play better for the most part. Any comments?

Hand C:
I played this hand all kinds of bad. Again I think I had a bad night. Making calls and bad plays like this a lot. I thought that Neo played it poorly at first but it was pretty cheap for him to see the turn card. After that he had alot of odds to suckout on me. A couple less hands like this tonight and I have a mega night instead of a mediocre one.

On the good side I am playing solid poker for the most part and I won around sixty today despite some bad play. I am pretty happy with how things are going. Now if Riverstars would finish giving me my money I would be really happy. Anyone know of any Full Tilt deposit bonus's going on?

Feed my Frankenstein

I think I am becoming a monster 25/NL poker player. None of this mean anything of course but it is fun. I have been on a good heater at Full Tilt lately.

I am so glad that MiamiDon suggested I play cash. I honestly had no desire to be a cash player before he sat me down and got me straightened out. He got me back to the fundementals of grinding out poker wins day after day and week after week. I also pretty much refuse to get stacked with TPTK or Overpair unless I have a damn solid read. He also told me to come over to Full Tilt where the players are "better". I think the players at my level are more aggressive but I am not sure that means better. Lately he has been like "Come on play a token", and I have been "Nah I am playing cash".

Two plays I took from the book of DA last night. I actually do remember what I read. In essence what DA said was in big stack poker it sometimes is the right move to call a draw if you are SURE that your hand is fairly well disguised and that the guy will pay you his stack.

I did this twice last night. One time I am sitting on TJ s00ted. I get a 1$ raise after me and decide to play the hand. Apparently it is even better than AKo. Anyway the flop gives me an OESD. There were three people in the hand. The initial aggressor bets $2 into the pot. My first thought is this guy has a big hand. Overpair or something like that. My second thought is I can call a $2 bet to get over $20 that he has behind. I know this sounds much more impressive when DA is talking about 2-3K stacks but stay with me people. So I turn my OESD. I actually hit the 8 I needed and there was a flush draw on the board. Just a draw not made. So I thought my hand was reasonable disguised. I also KNEW this guy was not folding. So instead of value betting or any crap like that I push on a slightly scary board and I KNOW he is going to call me. It does not fail and I stack him. He berates me for the next few minutes which is just a bonus. HOW COULD YOU CALL THAT PRE-FLOP! HOW COULD YOU CALL THE FLOP BET! Well Sir I invested $3 to win over $20. I stacked you. I did good.

I did this once more when I called a pre-flop raise with 79h. Different guy. Same result. Actually this time he bet a really low amount on the flop. Trying to trap me. I had a gutshot draw and was willing to dump if I did not make my straight on the turn. I again had a read on the guy that if I did make my hand he would never put me on it and he would pay me off. I again made my straight and pushed my entire stack in. I also again got paid. Twice. Once by his stack and once by his berating of me in the chat! I was laughing so hard I think I blew boogers out my nose. My notes on him btw: Next time you have a flopped monster cold call him again. He will put you on a draw and you can stack him again. History is your friend. Use it.

I may be butchering the concept here.. but If you know your opponent can not fold and your hand is well disguised it may be worth it to call of a couple bucks to stack him. Think of the big picture. If your playing a tight guy and he will not call your big bets then you need to be more cautious. If your not going to get paid for these hands then it is not worth trying to hit them. I am terrible at reading flops. I get pushed off alot of hands because of this. However I am good at psychological warfare and when I know for a fact what your going to do when I do something you are mine.

I am sure as I move up levels I will need to adapt my style more but for now I am enjoying myself. I am taking parts of alot of peoples games and incorporating them into my style. Until then I will enjoy the rush. I have practically trippled my initial deposit to Full Tilt in the past three days. I think I will take a peek into the 50/NL waters soon. Let the bankroll grow a little more at 25/NL and then see if the 50/NL guys play any differently.

HEE FUCKING HAW REDUX

I went back to the Full Tilt fish tanks again after a little break so my kicker could slow down. I mean what an aggressive site. I played some nice poker. I hit a couple of straights and got way paid off. I also flopped another OESD Flush Draw hand and actually this time did not push. I bet. She raised. I called. On the turn she did not bet enough. It allowed me to hit my straight. I thought she would put me on a busted flush draw and so I pushed. She called. Stacked!

I ran into EvaCantHang. What a wonderful woman. I had a great time chatting with her and playing at her table. She seemed to do well. I wanted to stack her but it just did not happen. Nothing personal baby! I think the highest honor you can bestow on a fellow player is stacking them. I hate people who slow play with each other. So after three sessions at FT I am doing well.. have almost made 4 buyins and I am enjoying it.

HEE FUCKING HAW

I spend 1.5 hours. I got stacked 1.5 times. I made eleven bucks. Full Tilt is CRAZY. I start off my flopping TPTK and turning the nut straight. I get the guy to put his ENTIRE stack in. He shows a 6 of diamonds. 56 offsuit. Four card flush draw. Six high. He then rivers me for the flush. On the turn is when I got all his money in. I did not want to see a diamond on the turn. So I waited and pounced. I then got ass raped. I admit I went off on him. I may have been able to control myself but he said: I HAD POT ODDS. I do not understand how calling off a non-nut flush draw on the turn against a hand you know has you beat is "Pot Odds". I did something I rarely do. I went and rebought and sought revenge. I prophetically told him to enjoy the money while it lasted because he was a loser and would never win. Little did I know how right I was.

I next stack a few people on my other table and am almost up double my buyin. I decide to leave that table. Except before I could do that I get a guy all in. I had TPTK he had nine bucks and I KNEW I was ahead. He then proceeds to turn the Q high four card flush which gives me the J high flush and I lose that hand. I am still up around twelve here though.

I then go back to my old table and get into a hand with my nemesis. The pot is four bucks and I do something I like to do when I turn the nut straight. I pushed. I know. I know. Only a donkey would call. Well folkes, this is the MOTHER of all Donkeys. He let me stack him with the nut straight vs TP six kicker. I guess he thought I was bluffing. I guess he was sorta right. There is something nice about getting back at the guy who got you. Something real nice.

Transitions

I have made a slight change. I switched some funds from Riverstars to Full Tilt. Why? I have been playing more cash and several smart people have told me that FT is better for cash games. Ok. I will give it a shot. Speaking of smart people what happened to Fluxer's blog?

So the first night at FT went alright. I won about a buyin. Up on one table down on another. The one thing I noticed about this people is they are willing to go to war with TPSK on a non-scary board. Do not bluff because I saw A4 get stacked by A6 on a Axx board. Um. Nice play Ace Six? NOT!

One guy I saw was so concerned about FT being rigged it was funny.

ParanoidMonkey: This site is so fucking rigged! It is the worse.
Me: What other sites are rigged?
ParanoidMonkey: Full Tilt and Party are THE WORSE!
Me: What about Riverstars?
ParanoidMonkey: Huh?
Me: You know, Pokerstars, that one is rigged too?
ParanoidMonkey: Oh yeah, I have not read as much about that one.
Me: It must just be bad RNG's.
ParanoidMonkey: RNG what is that?
Me: It is the algorithm they use to shuffle the decks and generate the cards
ParanoidMonkey: Oh yeah, that must be it!
Me: I think I know why Full Tilt is so bad.
ParanoidMonkey: Why?
Me: I think the hair from the monkeys on the site gets into the RNG and causes it to fail.
ParanoidMonkey: Really?

I hope this is a sign of things to come.

Mookie Fun

Well I pushed my Aces into Queens, got down to 165 chips, worked it back up to 4K, lost it all again on two minor suckouts, worked the 265 back up to 4K and finished 5th in the Mookie when someone caught a runner-runner straight on me with AQ vs KQ. Um. Yeah. Nice. I am so sick of these bad beats. I have had now six or seven runner-runner incidents in the last week including catching a runner-runner boat so I could get stacked by QQ quads. Um. Nice. I also placed 100th in the 5$/NLHE MTT. I won like five bucks. Poker Gods enough is enough. The world needs to go back to normal. I was just getting used to losing coinflips all the time and now you make me lose 80%+ hands all the time. It is Icks turn! Go get him!

*** Mook will have a nice writeup about the Mookie. Go see him.

Is this for real?

Best Six Bucks Ever

I made a whole six bucks playing 50/NL tonight. It was great. You know why? Because I got runner-runner sucked out on five times. The first hand of NL I played went like this. Flop the nut straight. Bet $4 (pot) on the flop. Get called by the guy with bottom pair gutshot draw. Bet $10 on the turn. Get pushed ALL IN on the turn. Lose to runner-runner flush on the river. *sigh*. Oh and shut up about him being a player Fluxer! He is a moron.

I then decide to play the WWDN. I play a great game and get down to 13 left. I then proceed to be runner-runner flushed against Gracie when I have KQs and she has QJo and the flop is a King. Ouch. I know you were a small stack but did you really think I was behind QJ? Ah well. I can not blame a small stack for moving in. Very next hand I outdraw KQ with Q3. I mean that is until he goes runner-runner straight on my ass.

The best part of the night was the ability to bring my stack back up though. I won the fifty back at a table when I had AA and QQ pushed all in. It held up. I won a few bucks on another table when I had pocket 8's. I raise a weak bet on a Axx flop. He cold calls me and I turn the 8. I then proceed to stack him. He calls me a moron. Umm. Let's see, I make a very small play against you for a few bucks, more than willing to lay my hand down on the turn, and you are willing to donate your whole stack with an Ace with a Nine kicker. umm. Who is the fish?

So basically that gave me a few bucks up for the night. I did have two brutal suckouts against Mookie and the BlogFather too on a cash game. I had 98d and the Blogfather raises on a K8x flop. I think he is full of crap so I re-raise him. Mookie calls behind. I turn the other eight and Mookie doubles me up when he hits a queen on the river! Oops. Sorry Mook. Again, a small chip investment, that got lucky, and ended up paying off. I then proceeded to river the Blogfather when he flopped two pair with 64o. To be fair he did not bet enough until I had him beat on the river. He then pushes all in for 11$ more and I easily stack him. Woo hoo!

Anyway it was a fun night. I got some NASTY sick suckouts and was able to get lucky on a few hands. Tomorrow night is the Mookie and some more 50/NL cash. Peace.

Poker Content

Do not read any further if you do not want poker content. I must appease the masses every once in a while.

First I would like to make a comment on playing morons. You know what I am talking about. The person who plays any two cards, seeing 85% of the flops, and calling your huge bets to the river with third pair. I have noticed a tendency in people to play back huge against these types of players. So a normally sane person who would never commit their entire stack with TPSK suddenly will push on a flush board with TPSK. As the moron stacks their chips in glee the good player grumbles about how bad the sucky player is. I think we all have the tendency to play down to these types of people. In a way you need to. However make sure you do it in moderation. Wait for the huge hand to kill them. Do not call the pre-flop all in bet they make with sevens and wonder what happened. If you wait them out you will destroy them. You probably need to be willing to call off a little more of your stack on weaker hands but do not go too far. Just something I was mulling around in my head after I considered calling a big river bet by a fish with a pair on the board. Of course she had rivered her trips. I did fold.

Secondly I want to put a hand out that I am sure will get alot of comments. I am to the right of a solid player. A real "I only raise with class A hands" kind of fellow. So he raises a buck and I call to see if I can trap him with my 53c. The flop gives me an OESD and a Flush draw. For those of you with Smokkee disease that means that technically I am ahead. I can expect to win this hand 56% of the time. I will lose it 46% of the time. So he bets out I raise inducing a push from him. I actually wanted to have him push and I probably should have just pushed myself. The reasoning here is that if I turn my flush I am getting no more money out of him. So if I want the odds to remain in my favor all the money has to go in here. So here is the question and think about it before you answer. You put your whole stack in the middle with a draw that is going to win 56% of the time against the hands you can put him on. He actually had KK. Is this actually a good play? Would you prefer to wait for a better hand where you can be 60-70-80% favorite or is the fact that you will win over time enough for you? So you decide: Do you wait or do you push? What kind of player are you? How opposed are you to either choice and why?

I love Duggles

He made me an AEWSOME banner! I really love it! I thought it was so sweet I would give him an idea for his next comic.

Funny Little Bloggers

It is really funny how these pages give people interesting ideas. I will routinely sit down at a table and one guy will tell me how aggro I am and some other guy will go on about how I bluff alot. I am lose. I am tight. I am always on tilt. I am easy to tilt. I have no patience. I have alot of patience. I guess it is kind of cool since I get alot of action from people who misjudge me.

In case I have not started enough trouble this week.. Carmen, I ask you a favor. Please buy this dress. I will give you my personal email for the pictures.

I am Waffles Unfiltered

Waffles? Funny guy, good player, but basically makes his mark by pissing people off (not that it's a bad thing, really...). It's his M.O. - BloodyP

I thought I made my mark by saying what I thought in the moment.. be that anger, sorrow, joy, whatever, I am unfiltered. If it insults people sometimes then so be it. I guess people are so used to being pretend and fake people that a little bit of raw emotion and honesty freaks them out. Oh well. I doubt I am going to change anytime soon. If you think I am this way only in the blog your wayyy off too. I am pretty direct in person once I get to know you. I routinely call my co-workers donkeys and am the first one to congradulate or flame them. If they are looking for some false praise or something like that they go elsewhere. If you like to be pretend little poppets then go read someone else.

Taking down the 3$ MTT

Well I tried guys. I tried to bust out early but I made it to the final table and was finally able to put a run together and finish up in 3rd. On the good side it made me over 300x my investment. I defeated over 1500 slightly poker challenged people. I doubled my bankroll. I am overall pretty happy. I ended up going out when a LAG with 1 millions chips raised all in and I decided to gamble with 77. Unfortionatly this time for me he actually had a hand: 88. Ick. Three ways I am ok with going out that way. It would have been nice to have been in a race there but it is what it is. I think this guys range of hand was somewhere between 23o to AA. I saw him call an all in with K2h. IT WAS S000TED! So all in all I guess I would make that play again.

A quick should out to MiamiDon, CarmenSinCity, Ick, Kitty, JJ, and CC for sweating me for hours and hours. I could not have done it without you.
